Above the crowds, in the green oasis of Sutorina
We’re not right on the beach, and that’s the point. Motel Pavlović and Konoba Dondo sit in the quiet, green oasis of Sutorina, a few degrees cooler than the rest of Herceg Novi. It’s a real escape from the summer heat: above the noise and prices of the coast, yet a step from everything. The sea is a few minutes’ drive, and Herceg Novi, Boka Bay and the Croatian border are all close by. You come for the home cooking and the calm, and you’ll remember the welcome from Pedja, who runs the place himself.
The heart of it all is the table
The grill, pršut cured in the sea wind, home-made cheese and olives, fresh salads and house wine. Konoba Dondo is a proper Herceg Novi feast. Every weekend we bake lamb under the sač, and there’s gourmet pljeskavica, home-made tripe, and fish from the grill. Don’t miss the „Dondo” platter, and a rakija to finish. It feels like a home-cooked family lunch: simple, generous, and made with heart.

Sutorina is the first green oasis as you enter Montenegro, between Herceg Novi and the Croatian border. The beaches, the old town of Herceg Novi, Boka Bay and Dubrovnik airport are all a short drive away.
